Quilters

The St. Paul Quilters have been lovingly preparing quilts for many decades. These quilts are distributed by Lutheran World Relief around the world to those in need. Over the years we have sent thousands of quilts which provide comfort and warmth, as well as serving other purposes for the recipients.

The workers meet every Tuesday morning from 9:00-11:00 September through April. During this time, we layer fronts, backs and middles, pin them together, tie the layers together, pin the edges, and finally sew the hem. Some workers prepare backs, middles, and sew tops at home, so we are ready to assemble the quilts on Tuesdays.

Tops are made of cotton fabric, and backs are often cut from sheets. White sheets are dyed at home. We use mattress pads, old blankets, and similar donations for the middles. We are always in need of items to be used for middles and appreciate the donation of CLEAN materials.
Tuesday mornings are not only a time of assembling quilts, but a time of friendship and conversation as we work together. Everyone is welcome to come see what we do and join in!

Lutheran Women in Mission

Lutheran Women in Mission, is all women in the Lutheran Missouri Synod churches! We function at our local level, zone level, district level and national level. We use our hands, feet, and voices to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to bring others to salvation through service and mission grants.

Our group meets September through June on the third Tuesday of those months. During Jan through March we meet via zoom. We collect monies each gathering to support our collection and mites. Mites go to the District and National. Our collection is divided up in December and used for mission donations at that time. Our gatherings start with welcome and prayer, then we enjoy whatever goodies are provided, then a very brief meeting, followed by our devotion/bible study time. We usually send cards to shut in’s, those with medical or emotional needs, or special days like birthdays etc.

We belong to the Buffalo Zone, which meets 4 times a year in various churches in our area. The District has a convention in the even years, with National Convention being in the odd years.

Bell Choir meets Tuesday evenings and Ring Praise on special days of worship!
